A good example of whats good and bad about your blog so far:
+ you're making some effort with layout/presentation: sub-headings, bold+pink
- you're generally lacking clear, specific illustration, whether screenshots or edited clips (not simply embedded existing videos), to back up your points AND help you to reference these AND to effectively plan how to use similar media language in your production AND to help your work later on the evaluation. It is fundamental for a good blog
+ you're applying a good range of terminology
- you're not clearly completing the post (if incomplete: publish; edit; add TBC to the start of the post title). The individual film egs then need discussion/analysis
- linked to above point, you should consistently look for (+ use as a sub-heading at the top of the post) POSSIBLE INFLUENCES, show how you might APPLY the knowledge + understanding gained from this research
- you're not tackling the industry context of the examples you're using - you might find Indies take a different approach, so its useful to always note basics (main production/distribution co; budget; global box office). As you're often doing this for Warp/WT egs, this helps with exam preparation too!
- you need to think of a random stranger as the audience for your blog: is the point/purpose/structure of this post made clear? (no!) No matter how brief, if the post title doesn't make it utterly clear then write a short, clear summary about the post + what is in it. I do this, especially for longer posts where I use the sub-heading IN THIS POST
- you haven't added tags or added the post to a links list
At this stage we'll be discussing how to complete CIA, specifically conventions, research together as a 4: all contributing something to every major theme, but spreading out the workload. In this example, you should look at: illustrating; providing basic context; clear summary; picking out any possible influences. This would then would be more useful for the group to share as part of a longer post on this theme.
This comment was specifically on Louis' post https://spikeyfilms.blogspot.com/2020/02/creative1-planning.html (you don't have any equivalent to comment on yet).
Sounds good! However:
1: Generally assume you are unlikely to manage a complete response through ONE such video (not impossible, but you've got to think about relevant illustration - box office screenshots etc - for example, so a top-up Ppt or Prezi might achieve this, + also help ensure your key points are clear + easy to see
2: As a group you'd want to work on a post that ties together ALL the creative ideas, with clear indication (like you have here) of which Q/part it'll be used to answer. You DON'T however need to copy/paste an equivalent post-part from someone else; instead, add a sub-heading - CREATIVE APPROACHES SET UP BY OTHER GROUP MEMBERS and list what they are, explaining that each is hyperlinked to THEIR post on this AND that you're NOT sharing THEIR video, but rather taking advantage of their setup work on this to use that format for a DIFFERENT Q to them!!
3: Make sure in each case its clear what your required props/set-dressing are; filming location (and your individual planned Eval Q/part for this).
